  • Engine: The Mazda CX-5 features a standard 187-hp SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with 186 lb-ft of torque. The Honda CR-V features a 190-hp 1.5L inline-4 rated with 179 lb-ft of torque.
  • Towing Capacity: The Mazda CX-5 towing capacity reaches up to 2,000 pounds, whereas the CR-V peaks at 1,500 pounds.

In the Mazda CX-5 Edmunds review, the publication touts the lively driving feel, stating that its “keen handling and steering make the Mazda CX-5 enjoyable to drive.” They also enjoyed the Honda CR-V. In their words, it offers “capable acceleration, composed handling, and confident highway manners.” That said, they suggested you “skip the base LX model” in order to get the features you need.
