Bringing exciting driving dynamics and sporty styling to the small crossover lineup is the Mazda CX-3. This all-new model utilizes the signature racing heritage of other Mazda models along with its impressive SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY to help achieve impressively well-balanced performance. An excellent choice for individuals and families who want the feel of a taller and more rugged SUV but like the idea of paying less and getting a driving experience that feels as responsive as a small hatchback, it’s tough to beat the Mazda CX-3.
What Are You Looking For?
The 2016 Mazda CX-3 is the very first iteration of this subcompact crossover SUV. Riding on either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive setups, this all-new model gets its power from a 2.0L four-cylinder engine that produces a balanced 146 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque and comes with a standard six-speed automatic transmission. This five-seat crossover is surprisingly quick as well, reaching 60 mph in just 8.5 seconds. EPA estimates are solid on the Mazda CX-3 thanks to advanced SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY and design that helps it achieve 35 mpg highway and 29 mpg city.
Available in three trim levels, every version of the Mazda CX-3 comes well-equipped, with standard fare ranging from a 7-inch touchscreen interface to the MAZDA CONNECT telematics system and a rearview camera. Higher trim levels include luxury-level accommodations like a premium Bose stereo system, leather and suede upholstery, heated front seats, and a voice-activated navigation system.
You don’t have to take our word for it. The industry’s top critics are fully on board with the all-new Mazda CX-3.
- Motor Trend: “With a projected starting price of around $20,000 and topping out near $30,000, the [Mazda] CX-3 is attractive, value-filled, and most importantly, fun to drive. American buyers will find much to like about the little Mazda crossover once it goes on sale here this fall.”
- Car and Driver: “The subcompact-crossover segment is erupting like an overdue volcano-witness the new Chevy Trax, Fiat 500X, and Honda HR-V joining other wee hatchbacks on stilts, such as the Buick Encore, Jeep Renegade, Kia Soul, Mini Countryman, and Nissan Juke. Now, having spent several hours behind the wheel of Mazda’s new CX-3, we think it just may be the most compelling of the bunch.”
- Edmunds: “Stylish, nimble and well-equipped, the 2016 Mazda CX-3 is a standout among subcompact crossover SUVs.”
