The Mazda3 is an affordable compact car providing a mix of sporty and efficient driving with today’s latest connectivity technology. Available in hatchback and sedan body styles, all models feature the latest Mazda SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY, which pushes the limits of gasoline engine capability. The Mazda3 should be a great choice for younger drivers in Bradenton, downtown Tampa residents, and anyone looking for an all-around solid vehicle.
What Are You Looking For?
The 2016 Mazda3 has arrived at Cox Mazda in Bradenton, and it’s back this year with a few notable changes. For the first time, this compact sedan or hatchback gets a standard rearview camera on every trim level. Also, there’s a new base trim and upper trims now get a standard sunroof and auto wipers and headlights. Other available features include heated leather seats, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, a Bose stereo system, and satellite radio.
In terms of performance, expect swift acceleration, a compliant suspension, and sharp steering no matter what. The 2016 Mazda3 continues to deliver outstanding capabilities from a pair of engines. The 2.0L four-cylinder engine serves up 155 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque while achieving EPA estimates up to a staggering 41 mpg highway and 30 mpg city. A higher-powered 2.5L inline-four pumps out 184 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque while still achieving up to an EPA-estimated 40 mpg highway and 29 mpg city with the available i-ELOOP regenerative braking system.
- Edmunds: “The versatile 2016 Mazda3 offers powerful yet fuel-efficient engines, sporty driving dynamics and a comfortable ride. It is one of the best all-around compact cars.”
- The Car Connection: “The 2016 Mazda3 is one of the best-driving and best-looking small cars, with a more premium feel than its (now even lower) price might suggest.”
- Kelley Blue Book: “Anyone who thinks a compact car can’t be stylish, fuel-efficient, value-oriented, technologically advanced and a hoot to drive hasn’t met the Mazda3. Mazda’s small sedan and hatchback are all those things and more.”
The current rendition of the Mazda3 appears quite well rounded and thoroughly modern in terms of its design, tech packages, and winning combination of fun performance and fuel-saving EPA numbers. However, it does appear that there could be at least a couple of changes around the bend.
Perhaps the biggest of these is what looks like an all-new high-performance version of the Mazda3. If that’s the case, then we could see the fun and competitive dynamics of the current Mazda3 transformed into genuinely track-ready capabilities for the 2017 model year.
