What Changes will the Redesign Bring?
The 2017 Mazda6 is all-in-all, a step above its predecessors. With so many improvements both to the interior and exterior, not to mention the tune-up under the hood, It’s hard to encapsulate all that the new Mazda6 has to offer.
- Revamped Engine Specs: Though not confirmed, it’s likely that the new Mazda6 may continue to use the 2016 model’s 2.5L SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGIES engine, albeit with some new adjustments to improve fuel economy and speed. Rumors suggest that the 2017 Mazda6 could be offered in an optional hybrid version alongside a diesel version as well.
- Sportier Exterior: Reports are saying that that the 2017 Mazda6 exterior will undergo some modifications to differentiate it a bit from the current model. A coupe design may also be in the works. Other changes to the exterior include minor modifications to the headlights and to the front bumper, endowing the car with an all-around sportier look.
- Luxury Interior Accents: In addition to the exterior, the styling of the interior will also see an improvement with the possibility that the automaker will make upgrades to current tech features while providing some excellent new technology features to make the Mazda6 even more attractive.
What Will Carry Over from 2016?
Because of the success of the 2016 Mazda6, some features will likely carry over to the upcoming model year. Here’s what we predict is here to stay:
- Same Stylish Silhouette: With the exception of the few alterations mentioned before, the Mazda6 retains the same formidably fashionable exterior it’s always had.
- Robust Fuel Economy: The 2017 Mazda6 will remain the same fuel-conscious vehicle it’s always been. Fuel economy figures are not available yet, but expect similar EPA estimates.
- Exhaustive Technology Suite: Whether it’s standard and available features like dual-zone climate control, a power driver’s seat, blind-spot monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, rear seat vents, leatherette seats, or the 19-inch alloy wheels, the Mazda6 remains a testament to comfort, accessibility, and a tech-savvy reputation.
The 2016 Mazda6 Sport Sedan Highlights
The 2016 Mazda6 Sports Sedan still remains a standout vehicle with tremendous performance and dexterity. Here’s what the 2016 model has to offer:
- Exceptional Start-up Time: The 2016 Mazda6 2.5L engine is estimated and proven to go from zero-to-60-mph in just over seven seconds.
- I-ELOOP Energy Capture: The 2016 Mazda6 regenerative braking system employs a fast charging capacitor in place of a battery to capture and store electricity while the car is coasting to better conserve energy and dramatically increase gas mileage.
- Robust Interior Technology: The 2016 model’s infotainment dashboard options are exhaustingly thorough. With an available 7-inch screen that rises from the center dash, and a rotary-dial master control in the center console with easy-to-reach volume control, the 2016 Mazda6 approach to tech convenience is nothing short of impressive.
