June 13th, 2016 by

While the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata is available right now, the new 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata changes will be released soon. Learn about all of the forthcoming changes on the new model so you can be among the first of Tampa and Sarasota drivers to get behind the wheel.

How Will the 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata Change the 2016 Model’s Formula?

The new 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata will have the same great performance level engine carrying over from the previous year, but it has a gorgeous new body that’s hard to look away from:

  • Retractable Fastback (RF) Hardtop: This incredible new roof is a daringly sleek alternative to the previous soft-top, adding a little weight but a lot of look. You will have the option to match the top to the body color or opting for piano black.
  • Red Nappa Leather Interior: It looks like this bold interior will be available on at least one of the 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata’s trims, an option that hasn’t been available to Mazda drivers in twenty or more years.
  • Uncompromised Performance: The drivetrain will remain the same as previous years—a 1.5L 4-cylinder or the SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGIES 2.0L DOHC 4-cylinder engine.

When Can You Expect the Release?

The new model is expected to arrive early in 2017. Though a date has not yet been set, it has been speculated that it could arrive as early as the end of this year. The new MSRP for the base trim has yet to be announced, but check back as we’ll have an update when it’s available.
