It’s true, an old-school racetrack exists in Bradenton, Florida just off of I-75. For those looking to experience the thrills of drag racing as it’s meant to be experienced, visit the Bradenton Motorsports Park, where you can watch cars screech down a 1/8-mile or 1/4-mile strip, gorge on tasty food, and marvel up-close at new and classic cars alike. Heck, bring your new Mazda MX-5 Miata or even your 250-hp SKYACTIV®-G4 2.5T equipped Mazda6!
Whether you’re an avid fan of National Hot Rod Association races, or just want to spend an afternoon watchin’ cars zoom by with your Sarasota-area family, Bradenton Motorsports Park makes for a great visit. You’ll find BMSP at 21000 E. State Road 64, Bradenton, FL. The drag race track is just 9 miles off the I-75 exit. Some amenities you can expect from BMSP include:
From drag racing and grudge racing to car shows and swap meets, Bradenton Motorsports Park knows how to keep things exciting.
Throughout the month, Bradenton Motorsports Park has many nights and events aimed specifically at anyone who wants to try a hand at their 1/4-mile dragstrip. All cars, trucks, and bikes are welcome on Thursday Test & Tune nights. You can also partake in the monthly Street Heat event, though junior dragsters and full-chassis race cars are not allowed. BMSP also hosts their own competitions where drivers from several age groups and skill levels—Jr. Dragster, Super Pro, Street Bike, Super Pro Bike, Pro E.T., Sportsman—can compete for cold hard cash. Wondering if you can race at BMSP? Check out the Bradenton Motorsports Park rules.
On any of the open racing nights, you’re welcome to simply stop by and admire the cars. And if you want to watch professionals perform at the highest level of drag racing, there are several races a year worth checking out. The Annual Outlaw Drag Racing Championship puts up $35,000 for participating racers to win, and the NMRA Ford Nationals Series comes to Bradenton Motorsports Park to impress audiences with a slew of races featuring insane turbo and supercharged vehicles—it’s one of their most popular events of the year. There’s also the Annual FixxFest, which expects over 2,000 cars to participate and appeals to European car enthusiasts. Anyone can make runs or enter the Best of Class show at FixxFest.
