Baseball Stadium
Tampa is a great place to visit for baseball fans, and at Cox Mazda, we want to help you get the most out of our city. George M Steinbrenner Field plays hosts to both the Yankee’s spring training games, as well as their Minor League team the Tampa Yankees during the summer. The George M. Steinbrenner Field has something for the whole family, with plenty to do for kids of all ages. Definitely put this on your list of things to do in Tampa.

History of the field

George M Steinbrenner Field was built in 1996. It has a capacity of 11,026 fans with an expanded right field added in 1997. The initial park cost over $30 million to build with an additional $7.5 million going towards the right field addition. That means that fans and visitors get the utmost in spectator luxury. The stadium was built to mirror the Bronx ballpark that is the traditional home of the Yankees, allowing both the team and their fans to feel at home.

Fun for the Whole family

At Steinbrenner field, family fun is a priority. Children under three get in for free, and there are plenty of kids activities scattered throughout the field. Kids can also join the Blue Crew Kid’s Club for $10. This will get them into Monday Night Tampa Yankee games, plus a free hot dog, chips, and a drink. Kids who become members will also get an ID card, members only VIP tour, the opportunity to run the bases Monday night after the games, and a discount at the Tampa Yankees team store.

The Tampa Yankees also offer a Field of Dreams package. These are typically group packages that include: reserved seating behind the dugout, team or group scoreboard shout-outs, soda and hotdog vouchers, a baseball for autographs, and the chance to get to be on the field with the players during the national anthem. The Field of Dreams costs $12 per child Sunday through Thursday, and $15 per child Friday-Saturday. Parent/Chaperones are $6 each. This offers a great value and a chance for a special experience with your child.

Kid’s Birthdays

There’s no better way to celebrate a birthday than baseball, and with their extensive packages, the Tampa Yankees make it easy and affordable. Packages range from $9-$20 with food ranging from simple hot dogs to an all you can eat BBQ buffet. All packages come with a reserved seat to the game, and an exclusive Tampa Yankees baseball cap.

Group Packages, Events, and Picnics

If you’re looking for a great event for your family, office, or social group, Steinbrenner field offers packages that fit almost any group size or budget. Their group outings start at $6 and include a ticket, game program and Tampa Yankees cap. The adult packages offer food and seating similar to the kids packages.

Tampa Yankee’s Fan of the Week

The local Tampa Yankees minor league team plays at the park and runs a “Fan of the Week” program. Winners can win tickets to games, and get their pictures online. In order to enter your biggest fan, follow the Tampa Yankees on twitter @TampaYankees. Take a picture showing off your fandom, and tweet your picture to the Yankees with the hashtag #TYPRIDE. Winners are chosen weekly and receive tickets to the games. A great way to stay connected in the offseason!

Legends Room

Steinbrenner Field offers the biggest selection of New York Yankees gear in the southwest. The Legends Room is sure to wow any Yankees fan looking for merchandise. It’s a great place to pick up gifts and souvenirs that would otherwise be hard to find.
